It is so exciting to see the kids beginning to sound out words. We learned about the _an word family today. The kids then read a story during reading groups called Jan and Dan. Each student was challenged to find and read the _an words in the story. I was shocked by all the sight words the kids have picked up on. Please look for this story in your child's green folder. I reminded them to read it at home too! I look forward to discussing reading, sight words, and word families during conferences!
