LegoLand

Check out the pictures from LegoLand! We had a great time from start to finish. The kids enjoyed the bus ride to the activities and fun at LegoLand.

ALL SCHOOL DANCE!
Every grade level met outside on the blacktop for an all school dance. The dances included: Cha Cha Slide, Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle and several more. After the dancing, our group joined together in a large circle. A few students chose to dance in the middle. It was really cute:)

Marc Brown - Arthur

What an amazing presenter! He was funny to both the students and teachers. Mr. Brown talked with the kids about how he got his ideas from family and real life experiences. Many of the characters in his stories are from his family and 3rd grade class. I took a few pictures and videos. Sorry the images are dark.

art start - week 2

Here are a few pictures and videos from yesterday's art start. The kids practice high, middle, and low movements. They learned about quick and slow movements. You will also see a video where they mirrored one another.

The first activity was with a partner. Students acted as a mirror to their partner.

Skip, Melt, Lollipop, Dog, Chocka! The class chose a movement, a way to stop, a food, an animal, and then a made up word. The kids had to act out those motions sequentially without stopping. Chocka ended up being a konga line which was very cute!

eagle watch

Live TV by Ustream Mr. and Mrs. Eagle live in Iowa. We have been watching them all week. The class has seen the eaglets being fed my the parents! Enjoy watching the live stream 24/7!

Art Start - Movement

During Art Start today, Mrs. Corey, taught the kids seven movements using games and fun music. The kids had a great time. Here are a few pictures and videos to see what happened during our time today!

In this video, students were playing a game called, "One Stop, All Stop". The kids had to be aware of everyone and stop when any one person stopped.

Students played a version of TAG. One person was the "tagger" (using a foot, elbow, heat, etc.). When they tagged someone, they froze and that person would move on.

Students had four steps to follow in this video: walk to the middle, make a "shape", change shapes either fast or slow, then walk off.

Students created a human machine to move the blocks. Each student had a different action to pass on the block.
